Lab 9 Reflection

For this lab, we have to create a carousel of links at the bottom of the page. We had to utilize some vendor JavaScript given to us in the zip file to create the carousel. To complete the carousel, we had create some JavaScript that automatically scrolls through the carousel as to keep it from being static.

In this project, we were placed in groups and assigned a module to make a website on from the Everfi website. In my group's case, we had to make a website on the Credit Score module. Getting the information was easy but coming up with a consistent and pleasing theme was the hardest part. In the end, I settled on a simple black and white theme. I also found a JS library which has interactive sliders; I thought that could help demonstrate the different levels of credit scores one could attain.

During this seminar, we learned about regulations before we start working for someone. There were some exercise like communicating correctly and knowing your surroundings. We had to know things like how long it takes to get from home to work and vice versa as well as what to do when delays or other similar things happen. Some alumni from the program answered any questions we had, so most of us had a good idea of what to do before our first day.

What Does A CTE Diploma Mean to Me?

In New York City, a Regents Diploma is required to graduate from high school, a student can also go for an Advanced Regents Diploma. In order to get a regular Regents Diploma, a student has to have 8 English and social studies credits, 6 science and math credits, 2 foreign language and visual arts credits, 4 Phys. Ed credits, 1 health credit, and 7 elective credits. To get an Advanced Regents diploma, it is mostly the same with the Advanced Regents diploma requiring 6 foreign language credits instead of 2, and 3 elective credits instead of 7. The requirements to graduate change when a student has a CTE endorsement, if said student has an endorsement and tries for an Advanced Regents, only 2 foreign language credits are needed and no foreign language exam is required. In order for a CTE endorsement to apply, a student has to complete all the requirements for their CTE academy.
